Vampire Mateus Rayje

Character description
Clad in shadow and a walking mystery, not so much can be known about Mateus. His name is one that has been heard through the ages, though it is debated whether or not it has been shared by the same being.
This particular Mateus (be it the same as always or not) was, in life, a hero among men. In ages past he was a crusader of the first order, sworn to protect those in need. His first encounter with the ranks of the undead were cataclysmic among both the Masked (The Vampires) and his men. The Actions he took against the Masked sent a ripple throughout the ranks of Vampires world-round. Such a man had never cause such a stir in their eyes. To the vampires, man was naught but a source of food and labor. Suddenly there was Mateus, a threat. That threat was sought to be eliminated.
The Masked Order's efforts proved to be in vain for a time, ever growing waves of the order was sent against him, and waves fell before him. Eventually it took the three Dread Knights: Visceris, Gilneas, and Inillian, to bring him to his knees.
They had no idea of the plague they unleashed upon the world.
An adequte description of Mateus can not be obtained easily. The only information gleaned by the few left in humankind who seek to fight the Masked was given by prisoners, all of whom warned to, "Fear the Black Mirrors."
Indeed none have been able to ascertain what this means.
In actuality Mateus appears a young man on the streets. He can be found leaning on walls in alleys, on benches in parks, and walking the streets. No one but he knows why.
Always in a large, dark trenchcoat (stereotypical though that may be) he waers it to conceal the many marks upon his body. Scars from past battles, internal struggles, and arcane modification. His black hair rests unkempt and fairly short. Beneath his trenchcoat is merely a short, tight shirt for mobility, and a pair of supple pants. A pair of dark glasses always rests on his nose.
Beneath them is perhaps his most fearsome feature.
By the glimpses of Hell Mateus had gained over the ages his eyes have transformed into looking glasses of the soul. They appear as solid black orbs, but lingering contact yields a strange light, seemingly from nowhere, as white shapes roil and twist within, as souls trying to escape a prison. Legends have told that the eyes have the power to kill and consume utterly. No one has been able to confirm this.
Mateus recently rallied many of the Masked to his banner and through deliberation and other... tests, determined the worthiness of those to become a part of his following.
His exploits among nations had earned him a title. One that comes in silence. A figure of death in the dark. A master to all.
The Silent Lord. Also called the Incarnation of Fate, for if you saw him coming, your fate was sealed.
Over time, Mateus's influence, as well as that of the Hand seemed to fade. In hte coming of the newer ages, they all but disappeared from the face of the Earth. They slumbered in waiting, for four hundred years.
And then they felt it.
The presence of the werewolves. Forced awake by the sheer brutality brought forth by the monsters, Mateus stirred in his resting place. His eyes opened to find a world alien to that he once knew. He rose the others, knowing that he needed their help to fend off this threat. Four hundred years of sleep had left them decrepit and weak, however it is never too late to regain one's old strength, when one lives forever.
