Vampire Kae

Character description
It was a clear, bright night and the moon was full, shining down and lighting up the ground. I was out, just breathing in the cool night air as I'm apt to do when I cannot sleep. It was chilly, but not cold, and the grass and trees looked silver in the moonlight. I gazed around, my eye's landing on the dark beneath the trees that were a mere hundred feet away. Normally I didn't go into the forest at night, not because I was scared, but because I would get lost. But tonight I was feeling unusually restless and followed the path under the canopy of leaves.
It was much darker amoungst the trees. I could hear the leaves rustling and various noises of the night as I shuffled through the underbrush. It got darker the further into the trees I went, and I looked behind me to where the trees ended and the ground was lit up. But instead of seeing just the grass and the pathway that led back to my house, I was surprised to see something moving through the grass toward the trees. I would have said it was a dog if it hadn't been so big and standing upright, although it was hunched over. It reached the edge of the trees and stopped, and I could hear it sniffing loudly.
It took a step towards me, and I backed up, before breaking into a run away from the thing. I had hardly run three paces when I felt two strong clawed hands- or were they paws- grab ahold of me.
I struggled uselessly for a moment. Boy, for not being a dog, this thing sure smelled like one. It was hard to see in the darkness, but I could almost feel the things teeth getting close to my throat. I closed my eyes and braced myself for what was undoubtedly going to be a painful experience.
I was more than a little surprised when instead the creature snarled out of anger and pain and dropped me. It then turned to face someone that I barely make out in the dark. Writhing a bit, the monster ripped a sword out of it's back, and threw it aside.
I watched in both horror and wonder as the women- no girl- she couldn't have been any older than me- unsheathed another sword and boldly stepped forward.
The creature snarled. "We meet again, Alkabeth. That is what you are going by now, isn't it?"
Alkabeth just grinned as she stepped still closer, and I noticed her fangs.
That was when realization hit me. I had accidentally stepped into the middle of an ancient war. The creature was a werewolf, and Alkabeth was a Vampire.
I gasped loudly and the werewolf snapped his head to look at me. Alkabeth took this moment to strike. She brought the sword down sharply onto his neck. It didn't sink completely through the thick hide, but he shrieked loudly as the blood flowed down his shoulder and back.
I could smell the blood. It had an overpowering scent of decay, mixed with what could only be wet dog.
Cursing, he jumped back as Alkabeth swung again, narrowly missing. He let out a sort of howl before he took off through the trees.
I was still on the ground in a heap as Alkabeth watched him flee, and was still frozen when she advanced upon me.
She held her hand out to me and I shied away. A small smirk played across her lips as she grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet. I winced as I felt all the bruises left by that mangy mutt.
"Did she bite you?" She demanded, grabbing my hair and jerking my head to inspect my throat.
"She?" I had asked skeptically.
"Yes. She. She's a cheerleader at the local highschool actually, and she's had her smell set on you for quite a while."
Alkabeth stopped her inspection of my neck, but didn't release my hair.
"And I can't very well let her or any of her pack have you, now could I?"
With that, she plunged her fangs deep inside my neck and I cried out and tried, and failed to pull away.
A wave of dizziness came over me and the dark world became even blacker.
When I came to, I was in a dank, wet-smelling room that was aparently underground. The only light came from a partially opened door.
I didn't know how I had gotten there, or where there was. All I could think of at the moment was how incredibly thirsty I was.

Since I was created, I have finally come to terms with being a creature of the night. I have gone about, hunting, and doing what I must. I have been around a bit, first on my own, then with one family, and now another. I am still ever searching for the next step, and I do what I can to help those I am associated with, and to seek revenge on those who wrong us. I am still growing, and am prone to weakness and failure, but I will push through, ever driven by my will to succeed, my thirst for blood, and the ever deepening thirst for revenge.
