Keziah was a good girl. Her parents owned a farm and she worked hard along side them each day to make the harvest in time, or to slaughter the animals to sell. She never complained about waking up early or going to bed late. She never regretting working each day until she could hardly move. However, she did dream. She dreampt of something more, a life where living meant something. Her dreams for life were not the same as many young ladies... to grow older and marry a prince... become rich and rule a kingdom someday... Her dreams were darker, twisted with visions of bloodlust and vampirism.
She had found a book of the creatures once inside a store. She had gone to town with her father and was waiting for him to return when it began to rain. She saught shelter inside an old witch's store. She thumbed through the books and though she had never learned to read the images she saw sent shivers down her spine. Most girls would have run from the store in an instant, but Keziah continued to flip through the pages. The images of the Vampires and their work made her heart pound harder... not in fear.. but in desire.
She returned home that night with her father and for years after the images haunted her dreams. How she craved that life, Immortality. She often dreamed of blood raining from the skies all the while she danced barefoot in the streets. But she could never achieve that here... The longer she waited for her chance to leave the more and more she practiced their lifestyle. Her father would complain of animals in the barn killing livestock but not eating them...
One night she came too close to being discovered... she could not carry on this way.. she needed to find a life beyond this. That night a terrible accident destroyed her home in a blaze of flame and Keziah rode away on her fathers prized stallion. She found a man in the woods sometime later, he watched her, he found her familiar and she used it to her advantage. She stayed with him and soon he gave her the gift she always wanted...Immortality was finally hers...
Maybe he should not have turned her... her darkness is overwhelming... now he stays close to her... he watches over her to keep her inline... if left to her own devices she would devour the world.
