Vampire Orlando
Character description
He was born around 1612 in Spain, in the Town of Seville. First-born son of maid and comedian. But during his youth his name was different that Orlando. His name was Marcos Antonio Jimenes.
And his way to immortality began by chance in 1619, in the middle of so called Sacred week at one Seville’s marketplace near stall with oranges.
At the time sever years old Marcos was hungry and wanted to steal some of those fruits.
But he never did it. Because he was caught.
Fortonately not by police watch but for him still unknown, very ugly nobleman.
This nobleman, his name was Rodrigo de Montorro y Cabeza de San Juan. This man didn’t také him to watch, he adopted him instead of it.
And from timid, dirty small orange thief became a young cavalier and later knight Marcos de Naranjas and lawful heir of title of count of Montonto thanks to kind care of ugly but nice and honorable count - first he was afraid of him but then he love this man. And also thanks to strict but parental lead of Jesuit priest padre Santiago.
This title was never mentioned to be his because it was claimed and later taken with vile trick by Diego, nephew of count Rodrigo.
Extravagant, dissipated and demoralized young man became a reason of Marcos’s escape from native Spain to England and then to Czech country (exactly Moravia) and his enter to
Church when he probably end with help of special gift. He changed his name from knight Marcos to priest, maestro musicae…and later to duke Orlando.
From Czech country led the young priest journey first to Vienna and then, with bounty hunters behind him, into sunny Italy. Into Rome.
And here, in Jesuit dungeons under Via Appian ended mortal life of devotee, illuminated by God, priest Orlando.
