Elysa was one of those people that loved life. That smiled when the sunlight filtered in through the curtains on her bedroom window, and that never wasted a moment. Her job was perfect, and she was content. Good friends, good fun, a good life full of happiness.
That's gone now.
And there's time when she wonders what she was thinking, letting the vampire bite her. Oh, she was always a trusting kind of soul - that's gone now too. He promised her so much, when he looked at her. It's a wonder he stopped at just biting. He could have easily had more. Now she just knows darkness, and is still haunted by that smile, and that laugh.
She's stood over the empty grave, fresh dirt covering a casket that had been just for show. Only a few knew had known that they were burying a false wish, burying a daughter and a sister who was gone and never to be seen again. Now she knew too, knew that life was gone, and all she had, and was, existed in the night. No more sunlight, no more laughter. Shadow, mirth, smirks, and chuckles tinged with fear. This was what she had become.
If that won't change a girl, nothing will.
