"I'm not a child like you are, dear," the girl said, her saccharine voice changing to something harsher, almost bitter, and with a thick Russian accent. "I'm a little... older."
"You don't look older. Maybe twelve at the oldest." But the thought was already forming in the werewolf's mind that this girl was not really a girl, but something else entirely. "And I'm twenty-five. You're too young to be in this club with me."
The girl brushed her white-blonde hair away from her face with one hand, revealing glittering red eyes. "I'm thirteen, if you insist upon judging me by my physical appearance, but I'm small for my age."
"What the hell does that mean?" As the girl's upper lip curled into a snarl, he knew the answer immediately.
"It means you're going to die now."
The werewolf laughed shortly. "I'd like to see you try, little girl."
She was bigger than she looked, he found out, as she lunged for him, her fangs fully extended and ready to tear into his throat. As they both hit the ground she hissed at him, making herself look like some kind of animal. "Good night, werewolf."
