Clan Description
Through the years there are those who have wondered if their destiny was their own. Countless lives and souls, searching for truths in a world of unanswerable questions. Many find nothing. Many find death. A select few find the answers they seek. Sad it would seem that in a short life span as that of a human, one could never see the answers to the questions that plague every sentient being.
This is not the case for one who is immortal.
The descent into the throes of undeath brings with it both blessings and curses. Through an indefinite lifespan, nearly anything is possible. Those who attain it are few and far between, but those who accept it, who see it for the gift it truly is become the most powerful beings the planet has ever seen.
What one does with his or her gift of unlife is their choice.
For one so many ages ago who was thrown forcefully into the arms of death, he sought those answers. In his searches he gained knowledge and strength. He gained followers, others who sought the cure to the disease of ignorance brought upon them by life. Even his creators, once cruel soon sought upon his words.
And after many decades of searching he came upon the answer he had been searching for all his life.
He asked if any persons life was their own, or if all time was predetermined.
And he discovered that only few are free. A man is born free, but within moments must come under the care of those who bore him into this world. He is chained by the fate of his parentage. His parents are bound by the confines of society and the limitations of their own fragile lives, by their jobs. Their employers are bound by law and morality. The government is bound by the fear wrought unto them by their enraged peoples. The people fear their government. However there are those who have attained a position. It may not be a position of power. It may not be a position of wealth. It may not be a formal position at all. But there are those who reach a place where they can no longer be limited by such trivial matters as these.
This man found that place. And he discovered that any particular man may be free, but those who are free meld the futures of others. In essence, he who is free becomes fate.
He imparted this knowledge to those deemed worthy. Together they founded a hidden organization, The Hand of Fate, whos mission remains to guide the course of time as they see fit.
Undeath has blessings and curses. Blessed is he who is free. Blessed is he who is guided well by the free. Cursed is he who is the only truly free being. For in the end, only one can escape the chains that bound the soul.
