Clan Description
Its important to note again that each vampire clan carries different characteristics. Some vampires are said to be no more than savage, rotten, foul smelling animals, while others are almost indistinguishable from an average person. Its important for a vampire hunter to be able to recognize the enemy.
Vampires are demons that inhabit the undead body of a resurrected corpse. The vampire stalks the night feeding off of the living, drinking their lifeblood, before returning to the grave at sunrise. Vampirism is an infectious disease, spreading from vampire to victim. Almost all cultures of the world have had the belief in vampires in one form or another. They have been called, Vampir in Hungary, Upior in Poland, Wampira by Russians, and Nosferatu in Romania, which actually means “undead” or “disease carrier.”
Vampire victims in the early stages of vampirism can be easily detected by their uncharacteristic and sometimes violent mood swings, their blasphemous tongue, an aversion to sunlight, sudden illnesses, decaying flesh, abnormal strength, physical changes such as the growth of sharp teeth, and finally a new lust for blood. Animals can also be infected with the vampirism disease. There have been reports of vampire cats, dogs, wolves, and even simple farm animals.
The early tales of vampires suggested that they were nomadic, moving from place to place to conceal their identities, this led to the misinterpretation that vampires must be gypsies. The vampire accounts would all begin in the same manner. Village farm animals would start to disappear and turn up dead with all of the blood drained from them. Then people in the village would begin to unexpectedly fall ill and die. Madness and paranoia would engulf the small communities until the tide of dead passed over. However, then stories of the dead villages seen rising from their graves would flood the peaceful communities. Many cultures took the threat of vampirism very seriously and took any step deemed necessary to combat and prevent these unholy abominations from invading their towns.
Vampires can take on human form, almost passing as normal except for their skin color, which is always a pale white do to that fact that no blood flows through their undead bodies. They have no heartbeat, no pulse, and no soul. Vampires are demons. They can shape shift into wolves, bats and other monstrous creatures of the night. The have psychic powers with their victims and powerful to influence the lower beings. Their soulless corpses are forever damned to wandering the night.
Even with all of their supernatural powers, vampires have weaknesses that can be used to destroy them. Sunlight will cause vampires to burn up and exploded in balls of fire. A wooden, iron or silver stake in the heart will destroy them. Chopping off a vampires head will destroy it. Crucifixes and holy water can inflict great pain and suffering on these unholy breasts.
Despite the glamorous depictions of vampires that have been portrayed in novels and movies, the reports of early historical vampires are that of inhuman, foul smelling, gruesome monsters. Savagely brutal servants of evil, who murdered, drank blood and feasted on human flesh in the darkness. The vicious attacks by vampires left their victims almost unrecognizable. Vampires were considered the lowest form of demon and were constantly being blamed for sickness, diseases, plagues, and many other human ills.
